“REdefined” celebrates CORE’s vibrant history by revitalizing past works while also illustrating the bright future of dance in our region. “REdefined” features Artistic Director Kelli Leighton’s acclaimed work, “After the Storm” (debut: 2011), as well brand new works by Ms. Leighton and renowned dance-artist Mia Michaels. Ms. Leighton’s work is recognized throughout the dance industry for her exceptional creative voice and athletic, contemporary movement style. Audience members of all ages should come prepared to “feel something”—whatever that may be!

 Enjoy Studio 817's stylish and comfortable lounge space- featuring two separate, indoor spaces with roll-top doors onto an outdoor patio overlooking Sacramento's Memorial Auditorium and Historic Governor's Mansion.

Violinist-looper and Sacramento's 2015 Artist of the Year Joe Kye join forces with CORE Contemporary Dance to present #SeedtoSprout, a new collaborative work about growth, community, and self-discovery. 

A benefit for the Mustard Seed School of Sacramento, a private school for homeless youth ages 3-15, the show will feature an original set from Joe Kye and his band as well as collaborations from renowned NorCal artists including projection artist and ARC professors Jiayi Young and Shih-Wen Young, neo-soul artist James Cavern, and CORE Contemporary Dance. Kye will also release his live album #SeedtoSprout at the event. 

Come out for mellifluous sounds, stunning visuals, and graceful movement--a fully immersive experience curated for your soul, all benefiting homeless youth in Sacramento.
